Back to the Future

This is drawing done for my bf Alex. He’s a huge fan of Back to the Future and so I drew him as Marty on the film poster.

I’m not entirely happy with the car but everything else I’m pretty pleased with.

Attitude

These three drawings are all from the one source, the furthest left image, which is a scanned drawing that i had done one day.

I decided that i would try a new style when recreating the image digitally which can be seen in the center, and the far right image is my usual digital style.

SHOT

This piece was done as part of a meme where artists were told to draw a character “shooting” themselves with fingers in the shape of a gun, with a stylised blood splatter that was made up of some of the artists work and their internet tag.

This particular drawing includes some silouhettes of my artwork within the blood splatter which if you look closely can be made out.

Violin

My Dad found me an old violin one day, he proudly brought it home and presented it to me. After weeks of sanding, smoothing, sanding and more sanding it was eventually in a state where the fun could begin.

I designed ideas for what I would paint, and ventured out to find acrylics. It took a few days to cover the violin in enough black paint to create a nice matte finish before I painted the design on in white. At first I tried this completely free-hand but had some difficulty, so resorted to sketching my design in pencil and tracing over the lines.

I am quite proud of the results and this violin now hangs on my wall above my bed with a mini model of it made from polymer clay, also shown in this photo.

Due to how old this photo is the quality isn’t great, so for now this will have to do but when I get the chance I’ll upload a shiny new picture for you all to see.

How This Works

Alright, so now I’ve introduced myself I think it’s time to explain how this blog is gonna work. This post will be copied onto an info page later on so that any new visitors or anyone who forgets can read it.

Basically, any new piece of work that I upload will be uploaded in a post with a detailed description of how I made it, why I made it or any other random comments I have about the piece. Once I have uploaded the artwork it will be catagorised depending upon what type of work it is, then a picture and quick summary will be posted onto the relevant page within this website.

This way you can have a detailed insight into my artwork and thought processes on the main page, and a quick summary of all the work I’ve posted on each of the relevant sub-pages.

Hope this way of doing things works out well.

Welcome

So this is my first blog, and I’m quite pathetically excited!

Alright, it’s probably a good idea to introduce myself now. My name is Jodie, I’m currently inbetween studies and hoping to get into university and study Psychology. In my spare time I love to read, play my guitar and sing and of course, the reason we are here: I love art. I don’t really consider myself to have one particular style, I tend to use many different techniques, tools and styles cause I love to experiment and mess around. But this blog is where you can find all the experiments that I consider acceptable enough to share with the world.

After using the same art hosting website for several years I decided I’d had enough and it was time to venture out into the big wide world of the internet. So yeah, welcome to my art blog; full of scribbles, comics, drawings, models, cake and just about anything else I can make look good. Have a good rummage through the contents of my bizarre mind and enjoy.

Peace Out x
